Ok, Here is the latest 100% sure method to make your XP genuine. Well, actually there are two ways. You could choose whichever you feel like. No nag screens, makes your xp genuine in no time. Passes the validation test at Microsoft Websites too.
Method 1
- Download this RAR File.
- It contains a file called installer.bat. Extract the rar file and run installer.bat.
- Rest will be done by the program. Just follow the instructions.
- Reboot your system and your xp is genuine.
- No spyware, virus or adware. Tested with AVG Internet Sec Edition.
Method 2
- Download this registry file.
- Extract it and double click on the registry file in the extracted folder.
- Click OK when asked whether to add to your registry.

It works both for vista and xp versions....

Method 2 seems to have worked. Can't say anything about #1 as I did not try it...Windows Update ran fine, no problems. We'll see in a month, I guess.

April 17 2009 and the registry hack #2 still works like a charm. You do need to run it again however every time you connect to the site.

Do NOT try option 2 or it will prevent you from running Windows when you re-start your computer! All you will get is the following message at boot time (over and over again): "A problem is preventing windows from checking the license of this computer - Error code 0x800040005"
I was lucky because I created a Restore point BEFORE doing this thing. And then I logged in SAFE MODE and restored my computer. Again STAY AWAY!
